On May 28, BYD Auto officially announced the guiding price of its new medium-sized sedan – Qin L. The new car is equipped with the latest fifth-generation DM system, and there are two kinds of CLTC working condition pure electric range, 80km and 120km, and the NEDC working condition loss of electric fuel consumption is only 2.9L/100km, and the comprehensive range of a full tank of fuel and full charge is 2100km. The new car on the market has five models available according to different configurations, with a price range of 9.98-139,800 RMB.
In terms of model dimensions, its length, width and height are 4830/1900/1495mm, with a wheelbase of 2790mm, and is positioned as a mid-sized car. For comparison, the current Qin PLUS model has dimensions of 4,765/1,837/1,495mm and a wheelbase of 2,718mm. the rear suspension has been upgraded from the torsion beam of the Qin PLUS to an E-type multilink independent suspension.
In terms of power, one of the major upgrades of the new car is the adoption of the latest DM5.0 system, which is also BYD’s latest hybrid technology. This plug-in hybrid system consists of a 1.5L engine and an electric motor, of which the engine has a maximum power of 74 kW, the engine has a maximum torque of 126 N-m, and the electric motor is offered in two power levels.
The new car is equipped with BYD’s blade battery (lithium iron phosphate), providing two versions for consumers to choose from, the lower version is equipped with a 10.08kWh battery, motor 120kW/210N-m, CLTC working condition pure electric range 80km. the higher version is fitted with a 15.874kWh battery, motor maximum power of 160kW/260N-m, CLTC working condition pure electric range of 120km. 120km. Thanks to the highest thermal efficiency of 46.06% of the engine of the fifth-generation DM technology platform, the Qin L DM-i has a fuel consumption of only 2.9L/100km under NEDC conditions, with a combined range of 2,100 kilometers on a full tank of fuel and a full charge.
